Every service released on its own

Features

  • Versions: a new Versions window, opened from the account menu, lists the version of the kernel, the gateway, the logger and every service on each node.
  • Compatibility: services, tools, programs and extensions check what they need from each other when they connect or install. When something does not fit, the message names the part that needs updating and both versions, for example that an extension needs a newer extension manager.
  • Extensions: an extension that needs a newer service than the node runs is shown as needing that service instead of being offered for install. Extensions already installed keep working.
  • Cloud: cloud nodes run a set of service versions chosen to work together, and install the extension versions that set supports. The update indicator follows that set.
  • Community Edition: the Compose file pins each service to its own release. To update, download the Compose file again and run `docker compose up -d`.
  • Services: a service that needs a newer version of a shared interface waits for it and raises an alarm naming what it is waiting for, instead of starting against a node that cannot serve it.

Bug Fixes

  • Bluetooth: on self-hosted nodes, Bluetooth services can reach the host's system bus, so scanning and pairing work.
  • Bluetooth: a scan with no reachable adapter reports the reason instead of finishing with no devices.
  • Sign-in: signing in with an external identity provider works with email addresses and subjects that contain quotes.
  • Certificates: the certificate challenge route accepts only well-formed tokens.

⚠️ Breaking Changes

  • This release changes how services, tools and extensions check that they work together. Nodes start again from fresh data, and Community Edition installs download the new Compose file.
  • Tools from earlier releases cannot connect to a node on this release. Use the 0.2.23 tools or newer.
