A redesigned desktop and a native-feeling phone

v0.2.2
•Platform

Features

  • Desktop: a new desktop with a top bar, a labelled dock, a workspace launcher, glass windows over a wallpaper and a floating taskbar. Glass, wallpaper and icon colors are editable in the Theme Editor, and app icons follow the theme palette.
  • Density and dock: each user chooses a compact or comfortable layout and puts the dock on the left, the right or the bottom. Every desktop surface follows the density setting.
  • Apps: pages share one heading with exception chips, a status strip for page totals, and one list-and-detail layout. Each value is shown once, with no repeated titles, counts or footers. The Device inventory is a dense table.
  • Phone: an iOS-style shell with large-title navigation, grouped lists with swipe actions, a segmented section switcher and an Open apps switcher. Active Alarms, Alarm History, Device Manager and its Explorer, Historian, Chart Builder, Database Search and Schema Editor all fit the phone.
  • Programs: Owners and Administrators choose the program compiler in the plugin editor, and a Recompile button rebuilds a program from its current source on demand. A node signs its compile requests with its own key.
  • API keys: one kind of API key grants API access, tunnel access or both, with allowed ports and an optional binding to one node.
  • Linux packages: a node installs from a .deb or .rpm package for amd64 and for 64-bit Raspberry Pi (arm64), runs as an unprivileged systemd service, and keeps its settings across upgrades.

Bug Fixes

  • Alarms: a re-triggered alarm becomes unacknowledged again and is announced, alarms without a stored description show the text their display format produces, and Critical, High and Medium severities have distinct symbols again on desktop and phone.
  • Programs: compiling a program no longer counts against its 5 second startup limit.
  • Configuration backups: capture and restore keep the role grants installed extensions add.
  • Command line: `cb-cli SEND` addresses a mailbox whose path contains spaces, or by entity id.
  • Phone: alarm rows show the whole message, the acknowledge swipe action is an eye icon, and the back gesture goes back one step at a time.

⚠️ Breaking Changes

  • **Extensions**: extensions install from the catalog only. Installing an extension from an uploaded bundle file is no longer supported.
  • **Tunnel**: the tunnel now authenticates with a node API key that has tunnel access. Upgrade the Tunnel to v0.1.8 together with the node.
